Islamic Jurispudence (Fiqh)

Fiqh, in Islamic terminology, refers to the understanding and application of Islamic jurisprudence. It encompasses the detailed regulations governing acts of worship, such as prayer, fasting, and pilgrimage, as well as human interactions like marriage, business, and criminal law. Fiqh is derived from the Quran and Sunnah (traditions of the Prophet Muhammad) and is developed through interpretation by scholars using various methodologies, including consensus (ijma) and analogical reasoning (qiyas). Its goal is to ensure that Muslims live their lives under divine guidance, maintaining justice, morality, and piety in society.
